The errors hospitals hope you don't notice.

Billing departments make mistakes — and those mistakes almost always go in their favor.

Duplicate charges
The same procedure or medication billed twice. Extremely common and easy to miss on a 40-page itemized bill.
Upcoding
A procedure coded at a higher complexity level than what was actually performed — one of the most expensive billing errors.
Unbundling
Procedures that should be billed together are billed separately to inflate the total charge.
Services not rendered
Charges for tests, consultations, or supplies you never actually received during your stay.
Wrong diagnosis code
An incorrect ICD-10 code can change what your insurance covers — and leave you with a bill you shouldn't owe.
Overpriced supplies
Hospitals routinely charge $50 for a $2 aspirin or $200 for a pair of gloves. These charges are negotiable.

Real bills. Real savings.

"I had a $34,000 hospital bill after my surgery. BillRx found duplicate charges and a procedure coded at the wrong level. My final bill was $19,200. I couldn't believe it."

"They found that I was billed for a specialist consultation that never happened. That alone was $1,800. Then they negotiated the rest down further. Total savings were over $4,000."

Common questions.

How does the 30% fee work? +
Simple: if your bill is $10,000 and we get it reduced to $6,000, we saved you $4,000. You pay us 30% of that ($1,200) and keep the other $2,800 in savings. If we don't reduce your bill, you owe us nothing — not even for our time.
What types of bills can you help with? +
Hospital stays, ER visits, surgeries, outpatient procedures, specialist bills, lab work, and imaging. We work best on bills over $1,000 where there's meaningful room to negotiate. We can also help with bills that have already gone to collections.
Do I need to have insurance? +
No. We work with both insured and uninsured patients. Uninsured patients often have the most to gain — hospitals are typically willing to negotiate significantly when there's no insurance involved. We can often get uninsured patients the same rates as major insurers.
How long does the process take? +
Most cases are resolved in 2–6 weeks. Straightforward billing errors can be corrected in as little as 1–2 weeks. Complex cases involving insurance disputes may take longer. We'll give you a realistic timeline after reviewing your bill.
Is my medical information safe? +
Yes. We handle all medical information in compliance with HIPAA. Your information is never sold or shared with third parties. We only use it to audit and negotiate your specific bill.
What if my bill is already in collections? +
We can still help. Bills in collections are often the most negotiable — debt collectors purchase bills at pennies on the dollar and have significant room to settle. Contact us and we'll assess your situation.
